Congratulations! You’re graduating High School. Grab that diploma, throw that cap in the air and prepare for a bumpy ride. Proud. Excited. Relieved. Petrified. One of those feelings will probably cause you to start crying since it is such an emotional yet exciting time. Here’s the best way to make sure your makeup lasts the whole day so even if you cry, you can still look picture perfect!
Prep your face!
The night before I recommend wearing a face mask before going to bed, that way your face gets the perfect glow with silky soft skin. My favorite face masks are the Sephora Collection Face Masks. This amazing line of natural lyocell fiber masks each has specific skin care benefits and come in a variety of ingredients. Each mask has a different benefit, moisturizing, toning, revitalizing, balancing, and anti-aging! They are $6 each and they work like magic!
Next, in the morning apply your favorite moisturizer. Make sure it isn’t too thick but will do the job of keeping your face moisturized all day. My favorite face moisturizer is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.
Prime, Prime, Prime.
Priming is most important when applying your makeup if you want to have your makeup to last all day. You might be sweating or crying off your makeup that day and you want to make sure there won’t be any streaks going down your face. I always wear primer when wearing makeup and it makes a huge difference! My favorite is the Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer. It fills in your pores and makes your skin so irresistibly smooth and helps your foundation blend perfectly.
You also need to prime your eyes before applying eyeshadow. Primer helps your eyeshadow blend easier and adds intensity to the shade. My all time favorite eyeshadow primer is the Urban Decay Primer Potion.
Waterproof that Mascara
Face it, you’re going to need waterproof mascara. If you don’t want to admit that you could possibly cry, just know that wearing waterproof mascara helps your curls stay longer regardless of whether or not the tears start to flow! And when crying, it won’t come streaking down your face and still looks like you just applied it on. I love wearing waterproof mascara every day because you never know what’s going to happen! Waterproof helps with the flakes that fall off your eyes when wearing regular mascara that we all know is a pain. A good strong waterproof mascara is the Covergirl LashBlast Mascara.
Spray it! Lock it!
At the very end, when I’m all done applying makeup, my favorite thing to do is to spray a setting spray that is made for helping your makeup lock in, leaving the skin feeling refreshed. It is the best feeling and makes my makeup look so much better and helps blend it all! A well known setting spray is the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water.
You Go Girl!
Now get out there and shine on Graduation Day! Grab that diploma, turn and smile at the camera knowing that, not only are you one smart girl, but your make up is most likely to suceed!
